New House (first ever!)

We are now settling into our new house here in Salatiga.  We walked in the door and said, 'WOW!, it's sooo big!'  :) 

Here is our first meal, bought from one of the street vendors--sooo yummy! (As long as you don't try to eat the sauce, which is very hot!)

Our luggage arrived a day later, just in time, as we were running out of clean clothes! Ruben though he was helping unpack.

Our Trip

Hello from the other side of the world!!
We had a great trip...about 24 hours total travel, 14 in the air.  Ruben behaved so well and the airline was so pleasant that we were not too exhausted when we arrived-though we did go to bed a little earlier than 'normal'!
We had a 4+ hour layover in Dubai.  Ruben had fun making friends and doing laps on the 'conveyer belt' things.  This little garden area was in the middle of the food court. 

And here we are arriving in Jakarta...

The videos that wouldn't work the other day.

Not sure where he picked this up!  It was his own idea, he gave Papa a stick and started swinging!

Ruben's been having a rough time in the bath, today we had the first bath in a couple of months without tears.  But he loves this part!  The funny thing is that every time the towel fell down he would pick it up and try to fix it :)

Ruben's been learning how to feed himself...with a fork.  Sometimes it works and sometimes the fingers are still easier.
 

There were supposed to be a couple more videos here, but that function seems to have a problem now.

Ruben sure makes a mess while eating, but he also likes to clean up! 

Favorite Things

It's been a busy month for the Schwendich family...not so fun things like; lots of appointments, paperwork to fill out, unexpected bumps in the road,.... but also fun things like; helping a brother move, a church retreat, birthday parties-and as always, watching Ruben learn and play and grow cuter every day.
Here he is, 'posing' :)

Not sure when he decided this was the proper way to smile for the camera.... and then as soon as the picture is taken he has to run and see what it looks like! :)
